I have seen some clients who have old legacy systems for data which works some time and some time they are down, but they are not ready to upgrade these systems rather they expect that application using those systems should work perfectly.

You've never upgraded a legacy system with important data, did you?

What a strange and overblown expectation!

You don't seem to be aware of the many barriers there are for clients to upgrade systems. Corporate systems tend to cost so much, that the impetus to replace them is not there. ROI for these systems can take a very long time, and business wise it does not make sense for them to replace systems that do what they need to do. Often times, developers need to get their heads out of their arses for a while, and actually look at things with a business perspective rather than a resume-enhancing one.

I will confirm Pete's comments above and add that clearly, you are not a top notch salesman. You may be a good developer, but salesmanship is a different ball game altogether. It would be good for you to research the business decision making processes, which can be many, varied and protracted in nature as well as understanding the concepts of sales from a salesman's point of view

So don't waste your time with software development and go back to gardening. ;P
