You've just pissed off some of our British members there who insist that what they speak is just English. :-D

That sudden flash of knowledge has left me reeling; perhaps I should take the rest of the day off. :)

Ah, if only. The weather here: miserable. (Best said with a bad French accent)

Ah, we've taken on a bit of a cold snap here, as well. It's only a brisk 78°F today, with partly cloudy skies and a light breeze to ensure frostbite for the unaware. Luckily I brought along my Eddie Bauer Genuine Goose Liver-filled SocksTM today. Can't be too safe in harsh climes... :)

Reminds me of all the Canadians here who keep insisting I'm the one with the accent. If only they could here hear themselves! Crazy, I tell you. [Edit: Coffee! Stat!]

            Is that the Canadian spelling?

Well it was a few centuries ago, but the generally accepted plural in British (aka Modern) English is actually octopuses; octopi is not correct in either case.

When I saw the word octopodes, I thought it should be pronounced octo-podes. After watching that video,...I now know it is pronounced oc-top-oh-dees (since it is greek). that is what I learned from that video However, I think I'll stick with Max's pluralization posted above...octopussies

Didn't see the video, so maybe they addressed this, maybe they didn't, but ... octopus sounds like it has a Latin origin, so why do those oh-so-smart scientists seem to think that it's plural should have a Greek origin?

Yes, but these are the same twats that call Star Fish, Sea Stars and can't pronounce twats correctly.
