      Red means the message has a high vote (5) - generally it was well written, had a good point etc. Grey means a low vote (1) eg. someone posted a programming question in the lounge. Look at the bottom right corner of any message, you will see the voting numbers to click on. You can't vote on your own messages, only other messages. A crafty way to cut down on noise. :cool:


      Deploying a web application without understanding security is roughly equivalent to driving a car without seatbelts - down a slippery road, over a monstrous chasm, with no brakes, and the throttle jammed on full.

Oh ;P Seriously though, the use of red messages in programming forums is amusing. When people get their question answered, they click on 5. It's quicker than answering with a full fledge Thanks, let alone they are willing to spend that enormous amount of time required to write a respectful Thanks.
