Mark Conger wrote: Hmm, Is it Veteran's Day or something? Succinct explanation[^] So basically on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we remember all those brave souls who died in World War 1 and World War 2 for our freedom. Though now we have expanded this remeberance to all soldiers in all wars.

Hmm, never hear that one, but history class was a long time ago. (And I was much more interested in the naval battles in the pacific for WW2). Wonder where I can find a poppy. Thanks for the clue in, paul! ;) *flips to florist inn the phone book* Mark

It's a type of red flower. It's an English tradition to remember the brave men who fought and died in WW1 and WW2. :rose:

Hmm, Is it Veteran's Day or something? My calendar doesn't have it marked. I've never heard of the poppy for Vet's day. Most folks in the US fly flags. I didn't notice anything this morning driving in, but most folks arround here are freaking cause of the tornados leaveling houses arround here last night. Mark

The same chaps who have protested against the second LOTR movie being called Two Towers have put together a petition to change 911 to 666 (666 of course being covered by religious freedom and all.) p.s. Just kidding, but I still think if these nuts are against LOTR then by principal they must be against 911

My place is fine. Area arround where I currently work, not so fine. They are not calling it a torndo but I've seen enough damage to know no thuderstorm is going to pull siding off buildings, level houses to a ground and rip roofs off houses and barns. just noticed it made Cnn. alot more rotnados happened than they are actually reporting. Yeah, I spotted it on CNN after a friend IM'd me about it. Funny how the weather people can't tell the truth any better than their news anchor colleagues. We had a two minute storm here a few years ago that sheared off a mile of utility poles about ten feet off the ground. It also destroyed 138 homes, and liberated awnings from their porches all around. According to the weather service, no tornado ever happenned. They called it a "microburst" but a rose is a rose ...
