I am aware that catholicism and protestant-ism (sorry) are a distortion or customisation or Christianity of a whole. If I were to follow Christianity, it would be plain Christianity and not a distortion of it.

Well, Catholics were not allowed to *read* the Bible for over 1,000 years, and by then the fact that things are done a certain way for that length of time carries as much weight for some people as the Bible itself. 'We've done this for 1,000 years, therefore it's right', sort of thing. Nowadays I think a lot of people just accept what they are told and don't check out the Bible more than superficially to see if it's right. Take a look at the feedback left by some people. It's obvious the site is devised by atheists to take the (urine) out of religion. It's very twisted though - I can't get my head around why somebody would do it.

I usually make a quick exit because most people seem to be there just to argue and insult people. However, the only people I know for sure will be there every time I pop my head in the door are the dyed in the wool athiests who want to ridicule Christians. It's almost like they know they're wrong, and trying to make up for it with volume. Either that or they have psychological problems that stem from abuse in a church situation, it's certainly bizarre and obsessive.
