This is what plays in my head when I finish projects.I find it unlikely, given the conditions on Mars, that Martians would be so well advanced, and also it is unlikely that they speak English (Or even with an American Accent). And would they really be heterochromatic? Unlikely in a predominantly red atmosphere. The basic concepts are ridiculous and should be subjected to further, rigorous, research.

This is what plays in my head when I finish projects. Is that a clip from Mars Attacks? Love that movie... So ridiculous but so funny... "I want to remind the American people that you've still got two out of three branches of government working for you, and hey... That ain't bad!"
Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

OMG!!!! That's the one... I just about fell off my chair and I'm on a conference call at the same time. I just told them I got a funny email popping up. How do you explain to company directors that you're looking at a Sesame Street video while listening to them talk.

Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

Heheh... Best parts of that movie: 1) Jack Nicholson as the President... That guy can steal ANY scene, ANY movie, ANY time. 2) What you just said... The translation :) 3) Natalie Portman's brief role as the first daughter... Come on... She was hot before she started working for George Lucas :)

A) Not a Martian. B) Not Heterchromatic, all tigers (of the same species) are of the same colouration. C) Tigers exist on a planet swathed in White Light, therefore allowing for vast colour differentials. D) Here is a Heterochromatic species (See here[^]) E) As a guide, Humans are NOT heterochromatic, we all fall within a shade of brown. However there are Heterochromatic tendencies of which this[^] is the most common.

I bet I know which group made the most sense. :)
Chris Meech I am Canadian. [heard in a local bar] In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. [Yogi Berra]

A) Didn't say it was. B) hetero·chro·matic (-krō mat′ik), adjective. "of, having, or consisting of different or contrasting colors; many-colored" C) So is Mars, just the intensity is lower - possibly encouraging even greater colour variations (cf. Deep sea creatures which often emit light in an enormous range of colours) D) It is indeed. E) I agree. With the possible exception of Norfolkonians.

Point of Order... You definition is, of course, correct. I was talking not of the multitudinous tones that are apparent and available within the confines of any object to which the term could aply, but in the biological terminology of that root word. In this case it refers to the difference in pigmentation between individuals or sexes within a species. My argument is that is would be unlikely to arise in a lifeform evolving on a planet with a limited electromagnetic spectrum, such as Mars. The high CO2 atmosphere would naturally lend a red tinge to everything, and the dust storms would exacerbate this effect. Therefore colour differentiation would not be a heritable trait.

Yeah, but see, when that movie came out, I was 14... She's something like 8 months OLDER than me (Thank you, IMDb) :) EDIT: Wait, the movie came out in '96... That means I was 16... Got confused... She's seven months younger than me... It's Christina Ricci that's 8 months older... Thought it was the other way around.

Hey, I lust after female celebrities MY OWN age, thank you very much :) Actually, I wasn't sure how old my #3 and #4 ones were... But I just checked IMDb, and one is 10 months older and the other is 8 months younger, so I'm still in good shape :)

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)I guessed this was case, I call it the Venessa Paradis effect, for obvious reasons. "Joe le Taxi" came out when I was 13 (Vanessa Paradis is a year and a half older than me), and I remember thinking she was the acme of sexy French Sophistication. Her appearance on top of the pops turned up on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYlV7pBIGxo[^] and it turns out she was actually a skinny schoolgirl. The Monkey bit of the Video is worth watching, one of my schoolboy favourites.
