I had to comment on this guy http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments=1&v=UYh5bkwyuRs[^] It turns out Splenda is bad because it "contains" chlorine (actually the compound, which is chemically unreactive, contains chlorine), and chlorine gas is a "class one carcinogen". I bet he has qualifications in food or social "sciences" so he thinks he is a real scientist.

Sort of a cross between Lawrence of Arabia and Dilbert.[^]

        Curiously, that was alluded to.

The vid is worth a squizz, the usual "Natural= Good, Science=Bad" , which is ironic because he uses some (pisspoor) chemistry to back up his claims. He even cites a few studies, which he poo-poos as biased, but doesn't provide any evidence of his own. He claims that splenda was intended as pesticide but someone tasted it in the lab, conflating the way saccharine was discovered with [I think] a bastardised version of the failed "superglue" that 3M developed and subsequently used in post-it notes. He then hawks some natural sweeteners (which will inevitably be a cocktail of albeit natural chemicals) which are so bad they need flavours to hide their deficiencies in terms of taste. My ex-girlfriend's uncle was the chief research scientist at Cancer Research UK, he wouldn't let his kids touch organic produce. Spraying crops with cow-crap (or whatever) introduces all sorts of chemicals, unlike the pure man-made fertilizers, giving a statistically significant increase in carcinogenic properties . I reckon the natural sweeteners have a good chance of the same problem. Too Lazy to look them up though :-).

Your brain is bad because it has been damaged by aspartame, fluoride, mercury, and propaganda.

Has the communist conspiracy been interfering with your vital bodily fluids again? You do know that isn't the real reason you have experienced loss of essence don't you? Somewhere, deep-down your subconscious knows it is vital that you never, ever, reproduce.

It is vital that I reproduce by the dozen and teach them the correct philosophy of life.
