The moment the Rolls-Royce carrying the Prince of Wales and the Duchess Cornwall was attacked on Regent Street was captured on a mobile phone. [^] Love em or hate em?

"It is a remarkable fact that despite the worldwide expenditure of perhaps US$50 billion since 1990, and the efforts of tens of thousands of scientists worldwide, no human climate signal has yet been detected that is distinct from natural variation." They knew it was going on. They went anyway, in the biggest, flashest, most "look-at-us-see-who-we-are-in-the-back"est car they had available. They have access to loads of quieter, more discrete vehicles. They could have gone round the "trouble-spots". I am sure that their security people strongly suggested both of those - if they didn't they don't deserve the job. So, I would call it provocation...

Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

if you check it was within 2 minutes of the palladium on a major wide road, any otherway would pretty much mean a long diversion and/or use of narrow back streets and as the mob were very mobile this may not of prevented it as the mob was heading towards the palladium anyway. there are limits to everthing

Indifferent. When young, I was a republican, and considered it better to have an elected head of state, rather than a constitutional monarch. However, watching the procession of 'Gawd help us'es elected by countries throughout the world, I changed my mind. At least we know that we are going to get a 'Gawd help us', and how much of a 'Gawd help us' they will be.

In terms of the Royal family, not fussed. Once upon a time they were the rallying point for England to get behind. I think the Queen might be able to pull off that sort of thing but her children and descendants? No way. I dislike Prince Charles because some of his public statements on architecture and agriculture are woefully old fashioned and uninformed respectively. Really though they knew that there was going to be protests going on, they could have put off the theatre for another day.

And did you notice neither of them were wearing seatbelts? You'd have thought they would have learnt.

Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

Technically if you're, you know, in France so to speak. They are leeching off us and not you at all. While I dont condone attacks on dodery useless old farts, whoever thought it would be a good idea to drive a posh car ( roller? ) through a protest about cuts that are ideological motivated to punish the poor for the mistakes of the rich, should be having his nuts nailed to the wall as we speak.

Strange, change 'inbred Germans' to 'shiftless students', and the sentence works just as well. "The Question, Punk, Is[^]: Do you think your course is worth £9000 p.a.? No: There isn't a problem; do something else. Yes: There isn't a problem; grow up, invest in your future." A sentiment with which I concur. There are too many universities that should be Polytechnics or Colleges of Further Education, which offered vocational qualifications to the bright and adept, at a much lower cost. University is for the academic elite. Accountancy, Nursing, Teaching, et al, are not degree subjects.

I started my first degree in 1989. I have admittedly paid to do two masters degrees since then. But I can say that for the best part of the last 20 years I have paid a minimum of £700 in tax and national insurance a month. If, however, I had not done the first degree I would have considered myself lucky to earn what is now the minimum wage. Without that first degree I would have considered myself to be doing well to earn £700 a month. The whole argument that students don't pay the money for their degrees is nonsense.

Wether you like it or not the country needs academics just as it needs plumbers and nurses, it's how society works. Biology, Physics, Computers and electronics are all academic subjects. From I personal point of view I went out with trainee nurse during her last year in the 90's the work they have to do is easily equivalent to a degree subject. Also in the UK, the teaching of nursing is now largely academic with less time spent on the wards.

Yes, it is acceptable because they put themselves in public life. THe public, in ALL its forms, therefore has the right to respond. Almost everything in life is a double edged sword. They just discovered the nasty side of parading themselves around in that ridiculous car of theirs.
