Dropped calls must be an American thing. When I was in the States there were lots of phone adverts that promised fewer dropped calls. (It never happens here in the UK, although to be fair we have the best Mobile Phone System in the world.) I know the US is massive and mainly deserted, so rural cover is going to be sparse, but even so, in the big urban areas I would have thought coverage would be assured.

They ought to give you the dang phone for what the monthly charges are. I just dropped my cell plan and got a land line. For the cost of the phone and 5 yrs service it cost me what I would have paid one month cell bill.

How does the cost paid through to the manufacturer of the hardware relate at all to the quality of the network connected to ? By that standard, I should have free computers coming out of my ears for my internet issues over the years.

No I'm semi retardedretired and I'm going to get a pre-paid for emergencies but 2 years ago when I got my Sprint phone HTC Diamond I got it with the intention of investigating mobile apps and play around a bit. Well for 2 years I've had nothing but problems with the thing; drops calls, calls don't come through, voice mails coming in 1-2 days later and sometimes not at all, shuts itself off at random unpredictable times, I could go on but I'm hoarse from yelling. So needless to say I'm tired of paying ~$90/mo. for a POS that isn't worth throwing out the window.

400 anytime minutes and unlimited everything else. I've had Sprint for 5 years and it's always been high but the service on other phones was great.

I pay about $90 a month for my iPhone. I think the big thing is the data plan (for web browsing, map, etc.). I think I also have unlimited texting.
