Ah, medical humour! I had to have a Liver Biopsy once, (not for booze, before you all start), and they needle was about 14" long and a 1/4" in diameter. Even though it was under a local, it hurt like hell and you could feel it hitting the ribcage. Ghastly.

Oh ow. Ow OW ow ow. Poor guy. And yeah, I don't think you could pump enough local into anywhere to disguise a 14" needle. I was talking to a Doc mate who was also keen into home renovations. We were working on I can't remember what, and he just goes:

    Phils doc friend said:

"You know what the difference is between these tools and the tools they use in surgery? Theirs are sterilised."

I think I'm quite happy staying in my programmer world without circular sawing bones.

I had one done "for booze". Unlike you, I had to have an unrelated surgery and they performed the biopsy while I was completely out...that rocked! I would have fainted like a sissy-girl if I saw that needle.

If you don't mind me asking, what were the results? Are you OK or is your liver fucked up like mine.

Efudex[^] (thats not me, just an archetype of me) and biopsies suck today, and they need a punch in the face. My face hurts and my shoulder hurts. I need a brown paper bag to protect the children from the hideousness when I venture outside. Note to everyone: use sunscreen, hats and long sleeve shirts. - Phil

Damn glad to see your better now. Not sure the I'd ever want to go through that. I've played and worked in the sun all my life so will keep my fingers crossed.

It was a cautionary one as I had been on Methotrexate[^] for my psoriasis.

No no, thats not me, thats a series of photos of what I _will_ look like. I'm at about day 13 of the cream. Except I'm doing my nose and the right side of my face. Fun fun! Especially for my 3.5 year old daughter who likes to pull on daddy's face. OUCH!

Same. I'm sure it's totally fine, just a precaution. Early prevention and detection and all that shizzle.
