This will neither happen nor would it work. I don't see any reason for demand for products and services to go up until people have money and someone has to spend it to empty inventories and human capital. It's going to take a while yet still before the hole we've collectively dug for ourselves is collectively climbed out of and filled in by us as well. edit Apparently I mixed CEO and CFO together. end edit

That's called seagull management (or sometimes pigeon management)... Fly in, flap your arms and squawk a lot, crap all over everything and fly out again... by _Damian S_

Phase 1: Republicans demand corporate tax breaks, claiming that the wealth will "trickle down" Phase 2: Businesses invest their tax cuts in infrastructure and automation instead of hiring more employees Phase 3: (Investors) Profit! Mystery[^] solved.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Actually Larry Ellison is a Democrat.

The reference is to Oracle's CEO, n'est-ce pas? But I am interested: What proof do you have that Ms. Catz is a Republican? Could you provide a citation?

The thread title says CEO. The linked article makes no mention of Ellison at all. Not my fault wolf confused CEO with President/CFO :)

http://www.nndb.com/people/650/000164158/[^] http://www.campaignmoney.com/political/contributions/safra-catz.asp?cycle=08[^] (Though there is ONE contribution to a DNC candidate - The rest are all GOP) Though actually, I'm curious now... Using that last link, I looked up her contributions for '10, and they were all Democrat... Maybe she had a change of heart.

No, but it's not my fault that you didn't get the joke, either. :sigh:

By a quick scan, I saw three Democrats. I won't claim I caught them all. Looks to me like she's a fiscal conservative who supports the candidate more than the party. Of course, most of her contributions when to Oracle's PAC which is, quite evenhanded - at least for 2010[^] So, I say again. Any proof she is a Republican?

As I said, it looks like she changed her tune in '10. Good for her.

I wouldn't read too much into an executive's contributions to their own company's PAC... I think it's safe to assume that there's considerable "encouragement" to do so, though I obviously have no proof of that.

Some day I'll understand how anyone can use the phrase "trickle down" economics with a straight face.
