Is it safe to upgrade to 2010 yet? I am still using 2008, and have heard tell of many problems and complaints, have these been remedied? Or should I stick with 2008 for the time being?

------------------------------------ I will never again mention that I was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel. Dalek Dave CCC Link[^] Trolls[^]

I've read they are major, however they will turn petty when VS2012 emerges. FYI: this subject is mostly dealt with in the Lounge, this forum is used for lesser and more specific issues. :)

Please use <PRE> tags for code snippets, they preserve indentation, improve readability, and make me actually look at the code.

Hmmm, I just figured asking about VS in the VS forum was the right thing to do :) As to the upgrade, I shall hold off for a while.

? What is illogical? That I posted about VS in the VS forum, or my decision to wait for the upgrade?

Everything was just fine till now; your sudden irony detection failure is alarming though. :)

I have been using Visual C++ Express 2010 and Visual C# Express 2010 (the free versions) on Windows 7 for nearly a year now and can say I have never had any failures in either of them. I often have both open at the same time doing multiple builds, but they seem extremely reliable. My advice is go with the freebies and spend your cash on grog.

I must get a clever new signature for 2011.
