Hmm, the lounge is out, the SB is out, all that leaves is the BR, and thats a personal blog for a schizoid burger chef. :)

Actually, PWP hasn't posted in more than a month. Sure, he'll be back at some point, but every forum needs some comic relief.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Pretty soon right after I wandered back in here after a spell of assuming all was good, looked at the posts, looked at the big notice at the top of the forum that says "The SoapBox is not for flame wars, personal vendettas, or endless debate about climate change, religion and US politics. Anything inappropriate for this forum will be deleted immediately", then looked at the posts again. Grind your axe elsewhere. <waves hands> This is not the site you are looking for...

Would that be why I was apparently busy undoing some posting whilst fast asleep this morning then?

      I was very confused.

Yes, they dont even say, message deleted, they are just plain gone. :) Still, if people want to crush openness and liberty, thats sad. Especially in this day and age.

Troll (Internet)[^] a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion Please do us the courtesy of not invoking the "you're oppressing our rights to free speech" argument, especially not in this day and age. I'm not oppressing you or crushing openness and liberty because while you have the right to stand on your front doorstep and spew forth whatever you wish, you do not have the right to enter anyone's home, anyone's business, or any online forum and hold court on whatever you feel will provoke the biggest response and give you the biggest and cheapest thrill. You are invited in and asked to abide by and be accountable to the terms of that invitation. Should you choose not to respect the establishment you are in you will be asked to leave. I hope the fact that you've wasted 3 minutes of my time in getting me to post the bleeding obvious has made your day and satisfied your need for attention.

Oh come on, you created these forums for lively discussion. And whats worng with a lively discussion anyway? They way you write one would think people actualy find it offfensive! Are people so dellicate? If you dont want people to discuss all kinds of topics (particularly difficuilt or sensitive ones) openly then close the SB and BR. It would be a shame, I actually like the openness and honesty with which people debate here and find it quite insightful.

I admit I like debating global warming - who knows maybe I can persuade a couple of folks to see the light - however, I couldn't agree more with the above sentiments. I am delighted that you spelled them out. Of course, you could have just said, "It's my fucking forum, and my fucking rules," and saved yourself 3 minutes. ;)

Just out of interest perhaps the SB is the place to discuss GW. Looking at the voting, it is fairly clear that half the CP members who view the posts are in support, and half against posting GW stuff in ths SB: http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/3817962/Just-found-a-doc-on-the-IPCC-site-from-1990.aspx[^] as you can see fairly even voting. THis is pretty constant, this voting patern, so perhaps the CP members wishes en masse should be taken into consideration. I am not trying to piss people off, or be a troll. It is a subject that is important today, it is costing us money. All I want to do is point out what I see is an injustice. And it is clear that many other people are equally happy to see it pointed out too. So, I say let the votes decide. After all, thats why the remove message vote was added, no?
