Need Help With Word

The boy (Year 9) has been working on an assignment for the past week or so in Word 2010. The teacher wants him to move a couple of the pictures around so one is sitting on top of the other. He has copied and pasted the pictures (think cartoon/comic style pictures) from the internet, and I know that if I put one on top of the other I can right click and use Send to back or Bring to front. But I can't get the pictures to move over the other. Any idea from anyone? It's 21:50 and he should be in bed but needs this sorted before he goes.

Paint.Net, new image, two layers? Might be easier than trying to use word formatting.

Not sure, but if you are using Word 2008/2010 you'll it is easier to start with a PictureBox and paste the Clipart into there, it's in the Insert Ribbon under the Clipart thingie (My normal PC is at home so I can't check the details. In older versions (IIRC) you can paste directly onto the "Text" Right click --> Format, then select "In Front of Text", you can then drag'n'drop wherever.
Sort of a cross between Lawrence of Arabia and Dilbert.[^]

Right-click on image and Format Object. The dialog that comes up should have a Size tab that allows to position any which way you want. You just have to have it float on the document somehow.

create a table an past the images into the table. you can then add text to the right, left, top, bottom of the images. make the borders of the table transparent through the table's properties dialog. I'm sure there are other ways to do this but this way has proven useful to me in the past and it is quite fast...at least for me. :) [edit] It would help if I read your ENTIRE post. I see NOW that the teacher want the photos on top of each other.
