I've posted before how we were dealing with near-record snowfall in the region coupled with recent freezing rain. The city's been prepping with raising dikes, cleaning ditches, flushing mains and sandbagging our major traffic routes so that the city isn't crippled in the event of a flood. Then, this from last night: a weather warning has been issued for our area with 15-50 cm of snow expected in the next 24 hours. I don't remember ever seeing more than 25cm in a day, so this might be a crazy storm. Our city is going to be in the lower end to middle of that with 20-30cm, winds gusting at 60km/hr. We're trying to keep a positive outlook, but the reality is that hundreds of homes are going to be damaged or lost. When life gives you lemons, right? So we took the man cubs out yesterday afternoon and had a blast tobogganing, having snowball fights, building forts and making snowmen (2m snowman![^]), followed by a nice treat of hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Off topic here Chris, but did you ever find out who the host of Team Codeproject is on F@H? I was going to drop them an email and ask, but thought they won't tell me as I am nothing to do with CP, so didn't bother.

Right here! ;) I love it when my punchlines are given to me in parallel threads. I'm in Southwest Manitoba. And yes, seated at my computer.

Based upon this link[^], I'm guessing somewhere in the flat lands of Canada.

Chris Meech I am Canadian. [heard in a local bar] In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. [Yogi Berra] posting about Crystal Reports here is like discussing gay marriage on a catholic church’s website.[Nishant Sivakumar]

Ditch the shovel, snow throwers rule! I now clean half my neighborhood in the time it used to take to clear my driveway. :-D
