I have a fantastic (in my own humble opinion) collection of Windows XP themes. Now, that I am being forced to "upgrade" to Windows 7, I find these themes do not work on the new operating system. Microsoft's theme website offers many pretties, but their capabilities pale in comparison to what an XP theme could do. Why did they do that to us??

You must be able to recreate you themes in Win7 though, after all its just a bunch of icons, images etc.

May I suggest Rainmeter[^]; a better alternative to MS themes.

As I said, I collected them. While I am capable of taking them apart and rebuilding them, I do not hold the copyrights to do so.

You shouldn't need to worry about copyright infringent for personal use.

Agreed. But it can be configured to be fully fledged theme also.

I tried to download it. Our firewall blocked the attempt, stating that the download contained a virus.
