Yeah, people in the west drank low strength beer all day, form the age of zero onwards. Of course its got nothing to do with christianity, the pagans were doing it long before Jesus showed up.

But I dare say, the monks perfected the art of brewing.

I figure all those bacon smoothies will rectify that situation shortly. :)

There were a lot on Indian words but not a single "real" Indian dish. I habe to;d before and I tell again: Whatever you guys from West eat thinking it is Indian, it is not.

Not true. There are plenty of real Indian places around, you just have to be selective, after all the local Indian population has to eat out somewhere. The is an excellent Goan Resturant in my hometown.

I don't condemn Pakistani food. But I understand, as Westerner, where you would have had food in India. It is not real. Believe me.

Hang on, so when I was in Hyderabad, with Microsoft, and I went out with the guys there to eat with them in restaurants at lunch, or in the evenings to various events, and ate on the Microsoft 'campus' none of it was Indian food? :) In fact even the hotel served Indian food almost entirely, the breakfasts were superb. Keemas, dosas, coconut pickles, hmmm it was good! I know the point you are trying to make, and to a degree you are right, but believe me, I do know what Indian food is, I have eaten it in India and I have cooked it myself often enough (and I mean real Indian food, not the fake gack you get in restaurants in the UK). In fact just to give you an idea of what I cook at home these are the spices and herbs I have: Coriander and Cumin seed. Turmeric, green and black Cardomoms, Basil, Onion, Mustard, Fennel seds. Star anise, cloves, fenugreek, seeds and leaves, coriander leaves, curry leaves, varioius chiili sauces and powders, asfoetida, cinamom, paprika, nutmeg, pepper. Here is the shop I get them from : http://www.e-velan.com/[^] Now tell me again that I dont know what Indian food is. :)

I dont know. While its true the monasteries were experts at many things, little is known about the culture prior to christianity, its called the dark ages after all.
