Anyone else like to add their 2 (pence, cents, kurus, pice, ...) to this thread? Do you agree with the OP that improvements need to be made to the quality of articles posted to CP? Mega grovel: the thread is here[^].

The current system seems ok to me. Most articles are of sufficiently good quality, and in case they are not, a lot of people normally make sure to mention it in the article forum. Apart from that; Isn't that why the voting system exists? To rate the articles?

The way I recall the thread, it was *not* about CodeProject, it was about the web in general. And yes, lots of material there is old, outdated and no longer relevant (if ever). IMO CP articles are pretty good on average. :)

No I do not agree with the OP too much. He is assuming that we are professional authors and have nothing better to do than to troll the web correcting every little mistake that was ever made. I read that thread fairly carefully and I did not see anywhere that the OP actually propose any kind of solution. All he did was whine about no one jumping up and down screaming that he is right and we needed an article police force. Looks like everyone that replied to him has a "closed mind" and his is wide open but he does not allow for the fact that the original authors might not have that particular email address anymore and not getting notifications on their articles, they might have moved on to other things and not interested in programming anymore, on and on. But according to him they must be monitoring their articles 24/7 even if it's been 10 years since they posted. I don't know about him but I actually have a real job and other things to do other than downloading every single bit of code on the web and bitch about it not compiling.

I think it's pretty clear that OP is a Troll. Less than a month on CP and shouting about how CP isn't delivering, and wondering why we are all willing to accept such sloppy standards. -Richard

                        1. The OP does not say what specific articles on CP he's complaining about; he's just dumped his load of crap here. 2. "Oh hey, guys. You caused me to do some work. Try to have better examples so I don't have to do any work myself, OK?" Does that about sum up what he's saying? All together, now, let's tell him where to go for his perfect examples. We'll need about 5 good ones for this jerkoff.

The problem is that when a new user's article is in the pending state, other *people* are responsible for approving said article, and no two people are going to have the same minimumn level of quality that allows them to feel good about approving an article. I approve very few articles (in the grand scheme of things), and in fact report articles that seem to be acceptable by a great many other people.
