They were bearable in the very early years when they were young and fired up, when they went more poppy they became crap.

Spoooooooky......... At the last managers conference 4 of us were discussing music over several pints, and agreed to put together our own top 10's and share them with each other. I was pulling together mine last night, and on it is With or Without you Edit: Pressed send to early  What I was also going to say, was The Joshua Tree was the first every CD Album I purchased, for my first ever CD Player. My parents where all 'what do you want one of those for.......' and didn't really understand the shiny discs!

U2? Trying to recall but... I still haven't found what I'm looking for :)

My favourite is the silence heard at the end. I dislike U2, and think of how much of the money they gave to terrorists was used to kill people.

Agree. However 'Acthung baby' was very good, in my opinion (maybe their last good thing).

Vertigo got as close to listenable as U2 get, the rest of their stuff makes me want to harm small animals and stuff. And the guitarist, 'The Edge'! The edge of useless IMO. The only thing he can do is hook a load of echo pedals together and frot away at the strings. Bono, chief poser. And so on.

I like[d] U2's music, but the political pontification of Bono is a PIA. I can still listen to anything upto Under a Blood Red Sky and some bitys from Joshua Tree & Ratthe And Hum. After that I lost interest.
