Everyone who worked at the level of the paper, she works one level up, so it was under her aegis, but not her whole job. At least, that's how I read it.

ditto, the whole lot of them should be signing up for welfare - I think he's in damage control, hoping the authorities dont probe any further - to beleive that he doesnt know what goes on in his own operations is a big stretch

I certainly hope that wouldn't be the case. Assuming they haven't p*ssed away their hordes of money that's probably not trickling down, they probably don't even need to work, save the drive of greed. I mean, why does Murdoch keep buying up all these other media companies? Because he thinks he can make them better news outlets? Doubtful - he owns Fox "News" afterall.

And who will suffer a case of selected amnesia when required. I mean, can she really be objective into looking for wrong-doing when she was in charge? That's like asking Gordon Brown to lead an investigation into why the banks went bust on his watch; it just ain't going to happen objectively.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Rupert Murdoch is giving Rebekah Brooks one? Or is it the other way round. I honestly can't see how this woman has still managed to keep her job.

Murdoch is famously loyal to those who are loyal to him. It is more likely to be that than the (probably actionable, and we know he has a lot of lawyers) suggestion that he is having an extra-marital affair...

That's what I thought about Bill Clinton. Then I saw pics of Monica. I would think that the supposed "Leader of the Free World" could do a bit better... On second thought, it is a step up from what he married. X|

Does no-one else think she just might know where all the bodies are buried and he's just vicariously protecting his son and himself?

I reckon she has the photos of the Murdochs, the Thai Lady-Boys and a sheep. It is the only explanation.

Not only does she know where the bodies are buried, but she knows what messages are on their answer phones too.

Why not? If a cashier is stealing money from the cash register then would you claim that the manager of that store should not investigate? And if the cashier is guilty of theft does that make the manager guilty of theft as well?

Yes, most definitely if the manager had asked or knew that the cashier was stealing money and did nothing about it.
