Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Rupert Murdoch is giving Rebekah Brooks one? Or is it the other way round. I honestly can't see how this woman has still managed to keep her job.

You do trust me, don't you? IF EVERY nation gets the leaders it deserves, what in God's name have we done to deserve Francis Urquhart?

She's a bit of a woofer, I'd imagine the answer is no.

Murdoch's no oil painting either; perfectly matched I'd say. When you have a face like a bulldog sucking piss off a thistle, you can't afford to be too choosy!

ditto, the whole lot of them should be signing up for welfare - I think he's in damage control, hoping the authorities dont probe any further - to beleive that he doesnt know what goes on in his own operations is a big stretch

I think its a bit 'convenient' - like memory loss 'I cant recall that particular event' - it may have been a while since he was a journalist (he was wasnt he ?), but Im sure he still knows what goes on ... anyway ... OT - how's Donna ? 'g'

I suspect he's smart enough to know when not to ask how they got certain information, so that he can't be in a compromising position. Donna is fine, thanks. She got really tired over the weekend, which still happens, but overall, apart from no facial movement, she's doing well.

Nothing I have seen would suggest that. He was always a publisher and history would suggest he was interested in the money making side and not the news. Because of that he probably was never engaged in the news gathering process and it seems unrealistic to think that that would become more likely in the recent past. Although I haven't seen anything specific I wouldn't think that he would have taken a detailed look at any business that was making money either.

Everyone who worked at the level of the paper, she works one level up, so it was under her aegis, but not her whole job. At least, that's how I read it.

I certainly hope that wouldn't be the case. Assuming they haven't p*ssed away their hordes of money that's probably not trickling down, they probably don't even need to work, save the drive of greed. I mean, why does Murdoch keep buying up all these other media companies? Because he thinks he can make them better news outlets? Doubtful - he owns Fox "News" afterall.

That's like asking Gordon Brown to lead an investigation into why the banks went bust on his watch; it just ain't going to happen objectively.

Murdoch is famously loyal to those who are loyal to him. It is more likely to be that than the (probably actionable, and we know he has a lot of lawyers) suggestion that he is having an extra-marital affair...

I suspect there's nothing much that Rupert Murdoch can't afford.

That's what I thought about Bill Clinton. Then I saw pics of Monica. I would think that the supposed "Leader of the Free World" could do a bit better... On second thought, it is a step up from what he married. X|
