I've been away for too long...

Hi everyone, I guess, I've been away from CP for too long. There are all kind of new things here. Message ratings, new emotionicons and other cool stuff. :-D God only knows what else I've missed while being away... :(( Anyway, one thing that I've noticed is that all the sample code zip files on my articles come up empty... No files... Is it just a bug in a system (CP or my PC) or did I miss something important about sample code for articles? :~ If anyone have a minute to fill me in I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

You have to have an account on Code Project and be logged in to download the zip files associated with articles. This was explained in the Lounge a few weeks ago. It is to stop bots from scanning the site and downloading all the articles. Many of these types of bots have been scouring the site using up all available bandwidth. Costing Code Project a fortune and also slowing down access to all the members. Michael, Thank you for your reply. I do have an account on CP for a while now even though I don't post much especially lately and nobody probably remembers who I am. :( I am always signed in but just to make sure I had signed out and re-logged in and I still have the same issue with code samples. So maybe it is a bug of some kind after all... Or maybe I am just being punished for not visiting CP as often as I used to... :-O Chris M., Please forgive me and give me my access to code samples. I promise I will be visiting CP every day... :-D Thank you.

I see the bug you are talking about; but only if I choose Open instead of Save when I click the link. James - out of order -

Hmm... You are correct. I've just tried to save it instead of opening it and it worked fine... I wonder if this behavior is by design? ;)

James T. Johnson wrote: Perhaps it relates to a post Chris made further down in the lounge? Yes, it could be that he was making some changes and something got out of sync for whatever reason. Hopefully, Chris will see this thread...

My attempts at ensuring there were no caching issues screwed up the download for some reason. I have no idea why it works as a 'Save' but doesn't work when you 'Open'. Too weird. Anyway, all fixed. cheers, Chris Maunder

No problem. I've just got scared there for a minute - I though what if I need to re-upload all the files... Needless to say, I haven't a clue where all those files are by now. Where are the good days of paper and filing cabinets... Oh wait, I could never figure those papers and filing stuff ether... :) Thank you for taking care of this so quickly.

Lately, I have difficult time remembering what happened yesterday. I guess, too much smoking, too little sleeping and working a lot is catching up with me...
