CodeGuru sold again!

I just ran into this article at ComputerWorld. It appears that EarthWeb is getting out of the content business and will focus strictly on their dice.com IT jobs marketplace. CodeGuru.com and a number of other EarthWeb sites will be sold to Internet.com and roughly 90 people will lose their jobs. It will be very interesting to see what this means for CodeGuru's future, and what kind of transition issues might happen. Last time I checked the vast majority of Internet.com's web sites were focused on opensource and Linux, although I think www.15seconds.com, www.vbwire.com and a handful of other internet.com sites are focused on Windows Development. I also thought it was interesting that the CodeGuru.com site was listed by Earthweb 12th out of the 15 sites they say they sold in their press release. Makes you think it really wasn't top of mind with them. I thought it was particularly interesting that they sold the EarthWeb.com site (which is of course their current company name). What do you guys think this means?

Thanks Dave. I heard rumours of this before you posted and emailed Tom Archer to see what was happening. Hopefully Tom can shed some light on what this means. Tom put a lot of work into CodeGuru so I certainly hope he gets to stay on with Internet.com and keep the old site up to standards. cheers, Chris Maunder

I didn't know one could give a schmuck, but.... I agree totally, the only reason I would still visit codeguru is that their forums are much more populous and therefore more likely to get an answer.
