    Daniel S. Hamermesh, a professor of economics at the University of Texas, Austin has proposed that the united states start an affirmative action program for the attractiveness-impaired. Since there are statistical studies correlating attractiveness with pay scale, he suggests [^] offering "legal protections to the ugly, as we do with racial, ethnic and religious minorities, women and handicapped individuals." It occurs to me that this man[^] would probably wish to emigrate if such a law was passed.

      Too few ugly people acknowledge that they're ugly; I think they would have trouble getting enough people to cause an uproar. Unless it was all on behalf of "this guy I know."

        Doesn't that means that we simply have to up the ante? You and I could never qualify, of course, but at a certain price-point some of our peers here would probably admit that they have a face that frightens children. ;)

          At least he's talented.

            Ugly works. Look at how many actors are really ugly. Who else can they get to play baddies? Bouncers? Boxers? All ugly. Plus ugly people get more sex. Just look at the figures regarding girls that get pulled in night clubs, it is hardly ever the tasty ones, guys think they are too good for them and stay away. :)

            ============================== Nothing to say.

              I read in some scientific magazine years ago the most of the good looking people consider themselves ugly. Go figure.
