husband-sued-by-wife-for-lack-of-sex-20110906-1juqw.html[^] I wonder if you can get a court order in France that says you should be able to get your leg over #n times per week/month/year. Will there now be a rash of law suits from husbands sick of being told their wives have a headache!

"wifely duty" used to be the legal term for it (along with "husband's rights") but at least here in the States, I think the only "non-performance" clauses left are non-consummation and impotence, and only in some states. I knew of one couple where the wife had openly boasted that she was no longer putting out now that they'd had all the kids they wanted, but when she found out her husband was having an affair, immediately switched to the role of betrayed and suffering wife, demanded he leave home, and started suing for sole custody of house and kidlets.

Ah yes, the fickleness of women... don't want something, but don't want anyone else to have it either... I know a number of men who are being/have been royally screwed over by their ex-wives through the ironically named "Family Court", which is anything but in Australia.

I had equitable settlements in New Jersey and New Hampshire, but was taken to the cleaners in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. Is there any difference by territory in Australia?

Probably not formally but I'd bet that 2 different family courts would give opposing rulings as often as not. Some of the rulings that make the press are just mind boggling.

No. Family Law is a federal jurisdiction in Australia, although Domestic Violence laws are state based...

Bacon and ketchup are needed as well. - Trollslayer Have a bit more patience with newbies. Of course some of them act dumb - they're often *students*, for heaven's sake - Terry Pratchett

Aren't you and the other half living on different parts of the planet 5 out of 7 days a week. And with grommets/rugrats, n will definitely be a limited number.

We sleep together 3 nights of the week! But yes, being apart and also blessed with two terrors daughters does eat into our conjugal time.

Maybe overly argumentative.

If that offend Oakman then I'll be thoroughly astonished. I presume you have not followed any of the really gruesome flame wars that have happened around him!
