Can a CP member in Frace punch a user for me?

I've been going round and round with this moron in France trying to work a ticket for her. I can't reproduce her issue. I ask for a screenshot and she sends me useless information sans screenshot. Great, thanks for the useless info. Now about that screenshot... More useless info... no screenshot. I've just asked for a 3rd time. I'm not really expecting any better result this go round. With the time difference I probably wont here anything back till tomorrow drawing this out longer. If I don't get a screenshot this time around I'll be very tempted to close the ticket and mark her as terminated in the employee database.

are you sure she knows: a. what a screenshot is b. how to make one c. how to send it to you some people, annoyingly, pretend they didn't hear you rather than admit they don't understand what you are saying

If she doesn't by now... a. is she 80 b. why does she have a computer? c. does she confuse her mouse for the phone? I haven't been programming for decades, but I'm getting increasingly unsympathetic to the general populace for their willful technological ignorance. At this point anyone who doesn't know how shouldn't be using a computer. Even my dad who still double clicks on links after being told more times than grains of sand on a beach not to can.

Never underestimate the ignorance of the end user ... they can (and will) surprise you. I recall an incident a few years back where a supposedly 'technically competent' colleague complained that her printer wouldn't work. It transpired that she had picked up the printer and placed it next to her PC (without power cable or data cable, in the days before wireless printers) and expected it to magically print! I also recall 3 of us spending an entire afternoon reinstalling printer drivers, realigning print heads etc etc because our friends printer was printing 'wonky' .. after several hours i managed to find the cause of the problem: a tea spoon had been dropped into the damn thing!

c. how to send it to youYour list needs a item: D. Ability to follow simple instructions. I finally got almost what I asked for. Her issue is with a dialog the browser was hitting her with. I asked her for a screenshot including the dialog + full browser window so I could see URL, javascript error flag, some of the data entered, etc. She sent back a shot of the dialog box only. So she's all up on a, b, and c. Unable or unwilling after 3 requests for D. I give up. X|

I don't. It's gotten so bad at times I could guess what problem they were actually having. Troubleshooting often has nothing to do with code, but people who are trouble.

Moron is what I'd call that. Sadly there are those that have no inclination about technology as a whole. They can barely type.

The world is a very complex place for those of us lucky enough to live somewhere where access to a computer is often a given. Learning about everything that is relevant in ones life is impossible. Much less becoming competent in it. And this even presumes that it is in fact possible for everyone to learn in a reasonable amount of time. Some concepts are just harder for some people to learn. As a very real example of that I have seen not evidence that those are technically competent as a group are able to demonstrate even average much less superior skills in communications.
