No, I am not pissing cats, I have a cat who keeps pissing all over the living room. Well, two corners of it specifically. We thought it was fairly contained, and if we blocked off those areas she would stop, but she just moved a foot to the right to do her business. She's 14, but is otherwise acting and eating fine. I think she's mad/confused because we did some rearranging in there (I needed a desk for my Mac). Or maybe she really hates Apple. We've poured more magic enzymes and done more wet vac than I care to recount over the past couple of days. I feel like I smell cat pee everywhere, I can no longer distinguish the smell of cat pee from the chemicals used to get rid of it, I'm losing my fracking mind. I think my wife might off the cat, but I don't want that. She's my cat, and the kids love her, so has anyone ever had an effective solution for this? The internet is full of voodoo remedies: for example we tried putting tinfoil around the area, cats are supposed to hate it, I guess -- well she just played with it for a little while then peed next to the tinfoil. @#$%! Oh well, it's still better than the day the dog had uncontrollable explosive diarrhea when we weren't home.

Then stop trying, and make it easier for her - put another litter tray in, and keep it clean. That should help to keep the smell down, as well as preventing the pee soaking into the flooring! I don't like it myself, but we now have a litter try in the bedroom to prevent Dij from peeing and pooing on the bed at night. The smell is pretty minimal if it is de-lumped at least daily (as the other is) and a whole load better than rolling over into a wet patch (or worse).

I'm confused myself now. I don't know whom to sympathize more with, you or the cat?

Put her food there. She is not going to pee where she eats.

            She might have a UTI.

I had a cat. If you are out and she did the job in a litter box and then latter wants to do again.. for sure cat will find some better place than dirty litter box... try second litter box.
