I know. After he made such incredible strides in other areas of medical science too.

Because he knew how to package something that wasn't really new into a shiny new box and convince fashion victims that their lives would be even emptier if they didn't give him lots of money for it. He was a brilliant marketeer, but he was not a researcher, did not employ researchers, and (being brutal) he was just in it for the money. I'm sure he was a wonderful guy (dunno, never met him) but assuming that he could invent cancer cures just because he re-packed the MP3 player and the mobile is a little deluded.

Being brutal, he wasn't a big believer in giving to charity. Just think how much research he could have funded, but chose not to.

Yes, when he took over Apple for the second time, he eliminated all corporate philanthropy programs.

Agree, but though he was a marketeer , he has significant number of patents in his name.

Yes. And he beat up Chuck Norris, twice. And he was also faster than JSOP's bullets and could jump tall buildings in a single bound, wearing a turtleneck iCape. His only weakness was blue Cryptonite which Bill Gates hoarded in Redmond. Now he's compost. So, *please*, get over it and go looking for another superhero.

And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"

And I smiled and was happy
            And it came worse.

Indeeed. I mean, after he got the hang of walking on water that would have been easy.

So? I have patents (or at least companies I have worked for have patents) that are for my work. Did the MD of the company (whose name is on the patent) do any of the work? No - he paid for it instead. That may be a skill, but it isn't the same thing.

It only shows how ignorant people are about patents. Having your name on the patent does not mean someone is a great inventor.

 Unfortunately, the OP does not understand the difference between repackaging an MP3 player and something really important lke a cure for cancer.
