I saw one once that said my son is Chuck Norris. Needless to say I didn't tailgate that car.

To the moderator who removed my message. It might have been a very blunt and direct question, but still a valid question. There was no foul language in the question, nor was there any reference to any subject that would be considered to be of an adult nature, nor did it touch on any political subject. In essence the message was completely within the rules of the lounge. This means that you overstepped your boundary as a moderator, shame on you.

It was not moderated. The message was auto-removed because enough number of people marked it as abusive.

Yes, it was.

I think it is good that the message was removed as it would have easily caused lot of flame wars. Also my personal opinion and it also seems several others had the same opinion, is that it was outright rude as you addressed the original poster directly. If you really want to have a good discussion I advice you to go to Soapbox and make your statement more generic rather than a personal attack on a person who is really proud of his grandson.

Assuming the message was along the lines of 'you shouldn't be proud that your grandson is in the military, the military does (list of bad stuff)' I think it's not good for Lounge posters to 1-vote and report it into oblivion. I'm pretty uncomfortable with the levels of pride in having military connections on show here myself.

Well it was not worded like that at all which would have made it a fair discussion though boring as it has been discussed many times here.
