So this morning we're supposed to test the building evacuation procedure. Everything should start any minute now, and I don't really want to start working on something large and then have to stop. I guess I'll catch up with some news... :-D Update: everything back to normal, everyone back in the building, no one injured. :-D

Just make sure you leave the building and don't sit there giving us a blow by blow account of how the evacuation is proceeding.

Just make sure you take your coat and keys with you - we had fire drill due and when the alarm went off we all left the building. However it turned out that some individual had left a fake bomb in the building and what was actually happening was a bomb evacuation - we could not return to the building for the next day and a half - and guess who's car was parked in the garage...

You're either talking about a fire drill or everyone going to the restroom at the same time. I really can't tell. ;) We have something similar just about every two months. In the 3 years I've been at BCBSM, we've had more fire drills than I did going through 13 years of school. But, it did come in handy once a couple of years ago. There was a bomb threat so everyone just left.

We do evacuation drills somewhat rarely at our facility, but every month we test the air horns. There's a page on the intercom first, same day every month, etc. No reason people flee. So, of course a few years back one person wasn't paying attention to the page and thought it was real. And the next person say him evacuating, etc, and pretty soon we had a full-blown fire drill going on in the parking lot.
