How big a nerd am I.

I am a nerd with a non nerd family. I was explaining to one of my family members that I had just got done building a media computer. They looked at me like I was speaking gibberish and asked me what the difference between a regular and media computer was. I explained there was no difference except one was hooked up to my TV so I could stream content from the Internet. They then asked me for a demo of this. So I showed them how it worked. Then I pulled out my laptop and started to chat with my wife on IM. She was sitting right next to me but I didn't want to talk to her out load because my family member looked like they were really enjoying the show I put on. They noticed that I was typing and asked me what I was doing. I told them I was talking to my wife. They then told me that I was probably the biggest nerd they had ever met. The reasons were because I owned a computer specifically for my TV, had a computer for guests to use, and I was talking to my wife on IM when she was sitting right next to me. I don't really have a problem with being called a nerd. Actually I like it when people call me that. I am just wondering if I am really that big of nerd in today society? So what do you all think?

I already know what she thinks. she is outspoken so I don't have to ask. She thinks I am a nerd too. But she is one also so it makes it nice. She didn't mind that I was IMing her while she was sitting next to me.

This made me remember an episode of "Two and a half men" when Jake IMs with his little girlfriend and she was by his side. Charlie, the "player" of the show was amazed by this. Oh yeah, that's really nerd. If the world keeps moving towards this path, we'll soon render our vocal cord useless and we will "evolve" so they will become a vestigial organ like the apendix.
