I was up late last night working on a p.o.w.e.r.p.o.i.n.t presentation. The feeling of dirtiness won't go away, I even tried a bleach bath but it doesn't help. :sigh: When did I stop being a tech and start doing this fluffy shyte?

Hey, next time you can use Beamer to feel clean  Note: I haven't actually tried this, but I saw a PhD student struggle with it a couple of years ago. In the end, he had blank background with properly formatted text shown on video-projector while I was using OpenOffice with all kinds of diagrams and no swearing involved in the making ;)

One way to get around this guilt is to automate Powerpoint to do things instead of doing it yourself. It would at least give you the feeling that your were writing code and doing something technical.

I'll try it with Benylin. I have a cough as well just to make me extra manky.

If I read this right, it must be used before having an experience that you don't want to remember. It does not work afterwards, so its usefulness is still limited.

I've set up templates and so I just enter the text into the outline which creates the slides for me. But it's still fluffy.

I agree. It is not powerful and it has no point. I much prefer to write an agenda for the meeting and sit down and talk with the client rather than then PP technique of talking at the client. It has always struck me as being a way that stops informed discussion and instead provides a one way flow of information.

I am not that cruel. It took me 15 minutes to write the 'script' for the presentation and now I'm 4 hours into PPTing and it still blows chunks.
