Until recently, Hungary was deeply divided. Half of the population believed that only the socialists could be trusted to run the country's affairs competently. They despised the current Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, as a populist demagogue. Meanwhile, the other half saw Mr Orban as a saviour from the corruption of the socialists, who were seen as a bunch of detestable self-serving ex-communist apparatchiks in new suits. But now the country is becoming more united again - united in despair at the entire political class.

Look, our politicians a more corrupt untrustworthy bunch of embezzlers than yours! We might even be able to out f'up the Greeks! Way to fúcking go Victor!

Panic, Chaos, Destruction. My work here is done. Drink. Get drunk. Fall over - P O'H OK, I will win to day or my name isn't Ethel Crudacre! - DD Ethel Crudacre I cannot live by bread alone. Bacon and ketchup are needed as well. - Trollslayer Have a bit more patience with newbies. Of course some of them act dumb - they're often *students*, for heaven's sake - Terry Pratchett

It's the same in Australia. We have whats called a hung parliament (unfortunately they haven't hung themselves). No one votes for who they trust, just against who they hate the most. 50% hate Labor, 50% hate Liberal and 100% hate both.

"You get that on the big jobs."

Unfortunately the Victator has a super majority that allows him to do whatever he wants and worse to change the constitution. Recent changes have been referred to the European Court of Justice because they do not comply with the Lisbon Treaty. Hungary is not only up the creek without a paddle, but the boat has got a huge hole and the crocodiles are circling to see who gets to eat what.
