I eat my words

So not too long ago there was a Post[^] about some Muslims getting away with beating someone cause "they were too drunk" I made a comment "not in US as we rule on precedent." Deputy Commits felon by 'Dashing' off drunk from officers[^] I now eat those words. What ticks me off though is not so much the person getting away with it, but who they are. IMO such a person should be held to higher standards and be giving maximum. Yet judges save those rulings for minors or young adult that really do not know any better. Not saying they shouldn't be punished but I have seen cases where a young adult is sentenced to many years in prison for such an act. They were foolish and should be punished, but there life as they knew it is over. Yet this officer of the law will likely be back out 'Upholding the law' by mid year X| X| X|
Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.

From Orwell's 'Animal Farm': "All animals are equal - some are more equal than others." Look at the typical handling of criminal behavior by celebrities (movie, sports, politicians, rich folk, etc.). The recent Lindsey Lohan adventures, where she disregards her sentence, commits further criminal acts whilst out on parole, violates the terms of her parole, and general behaves in manor that would put anyone in the slammer. Correction: she did spend four hours in jail until her lawyer got her released. Perhaps we are approaching the time for Mdme Guillotine ?
