You need a faster Internet connection or a smaller Linux distribution.

my net connection is cable modem..imagine if I had used a dial-up :-( the 3 installation files - around 650 meg each - are mandatory for RedHat linux..so I did not have an option.. do u have any suggestion sfor smaller linux distributions - which are as "good" as redhat ?? There are no failures; there are only extended learning opportunities.

Did you download it directly from Red Hat? Their serves are slow. You could go to other sites that host those files. My suggestion is to try to use the mirrors that are available at: http://www.linuxiso.org[^] or http://www.filemirrors.com[^] (if you know the exact filename) Of course, getting a program like GetRight might help because you don't want to have a broken download that's hard to restart. X| Edit: broken link. Forgot not to highlight other text. :) Frank http://www.frankliao.com

Uhm. 17 hours? Let me guess, you were downloading from ftp.redhat.com, and not one of the mirrors closer to you... BAD N00B. Next time, try a damned mirror and stop clogging up the main pipes. [/rant] evilpen dot net::msn messenger:negacao@hotmail.com
