Now you're having a bubble! Females in IT are rare enough, but female DBA's? Won't believe it even if you prove it.

Just got the new organizational charts at work after the cuts earlier this week and...I'm not on it. WTF. Apparently it was just an oversight, but it's nice to know you're appreciated. F*** this, anybody got any leads on other jobs? What happened to the job board? [Edit: The org chart is now fixed and I'm back in it. The admin who created it apologized and blamed it on "chemo-brain". I'm still mad, but I can't exactly argue against that excuse! My boss was really upset about it too.]

We actually just a phone interview with a female dba, and she's coming in for interview. There are about 8 dbas on my team now, one is female, and there is another female dba here on another team.

There was a female at my last job who did DBA work part of the time, though she wasn't a lady.

Where are you and what do you do? New company is hiring SQL guys.

I know my way around a SELECT statement, but I don't think I'd call myself an SQL guy, but thanks for the thought. I'm actually a scientist by training who does a lot of programming. I've done lots of C# and WPF apps. I'm doing more web stuff right now with jquery and knockout (which really rocks, BTW) connecting to a PHP webservice (which I'm learning PHP as I go). I'm in Ohio.

Approximately 50% of the DBAs with whom I have worked are female.

My company is hiring a bunch of .NET (C#) folks right now. It would mean a relocation to a city that starts with a B located about 40 miles north of Tulsa with a stock symbol of COP. If there is any interest and you need a bigger hint to find the job board, let me know.

Hmmm...Interesting. But I think OK might be a hard sell to the wife. Maybe I'll take a look over the weekend.
