When will WW3 start off?

i think the draw down of troops from other fronts clearly indicates that Iran will be attacked soon. Clearly Iran has a better military defence, along with the unknown amount of support it will get from China and Russia makes this an interesting prospect. (especially as im down the bottom of the world :) ) Why else would they begin negotiations with the Taliban in Afganistan? (except the fact that in 25yr neither of the 2 super powers can take the land from its natural owners).

I have responed to your email attack hopefully it wil reduce the anger somewhat :) and hope your son return safely from hi visit, i can understand that my bet is in bad taste if you have family in the region but it cuts both ways... I am from New Zealand, my background? My ancestors where most likely debt slaves exported to the "new" lands to colonise empire... I was just wanting to start debate about the casual talk of war that is in the media at the moment... :rose:

I strongly doubt that anything approaching a WWIII level will result; it's not on anyone's agenda to render the world uninhabitable. There are madmen who rule a few countries and who might think themselves to be powerful among nations because they own a few nuclear warheads. And, yes, a few might be flung about by such morons. That would be tragic, indeed. But the major powers in the world are run by men and women who have a keen understanding of the consequences of their actions. All out war benefits no one, and they all know it. The maniac running Iran is just a spot of noise on the threat radar, and the US, for one, is not inclined to add to the suffering of the Iranian people by provoking a nuclear exchange that will be entirely one-sided. North Korea is the only other major asylum I know of that bears watching, and the son of Kim Jong Ill appears, initially, to be a sane man. Though his father would have been a good poster child for tertiary syphilis, the kid is making steps toward making his country into a real member of the world community. I'll take your bet, and your money. And if you happen to win, how would you prefer to be paid? Clam shells, or shiny rocks?
