I think they may have been taking the piss as you are correct: as an atheist nothing can be 'holy' or made 'holy' (whatever the hell that means anyway) so to unset the 'holiness' of something is ludicrous and silly. Personally don't care if someone sprays 'holy' water (really? prove it) all over the road and feels good about it. No better or worse than a dog marking a tree or a fire hydrant: that doesn't impact me either. As an atheist I'm quite happy for everyone else to believe in whatever fantasy they want as long as they leave me out of it. I only wish the reverse were true,.

Atheists use ‘unholy water’ to ‘unbless’ Florida highway[^] Since atheists don't believe in God or the Divine nor in the Holy or in Blessings, how can they believe in anything "unholy" or in "unblessing"? If you are "undoing" something doesn't that mean you give credence to the "doing" of a thing? Just a thought. I don't really care one way or the other. Just seems contradictory and hypocritical to me for an atheist to "undo" anything that a religionist "does".

That’s why I consider myself nonbeliever instead of atheist. Sometimes the atheist are the same zealots as the over-religious people.

Evangelists - piss me off big time. Leave me alone, I do not want to join your church or study your silly book so do not accost me in the street (happened 3 times yesterday - told the last one I was a satanist - the look on his face was priceless). That's what I meant: keep your beliefs to yourself.

I'm compelled to add that I would suggest there is not much worse than a "bible basher" ranting at you to adapt to their religion. We all have some belief mine is I'm here and I try to do good, I don't need religion to make me do this. I consider myself an atheist because if there is a god, he/she has a pretty sad of a sense of good and bad. Don't believe me? go read a newspaper and see what god's little children are up too. Sorry about being long winded but there it is.

It only makes them look stupid if you're offended by it. On the other hand, maybe they were offended by the initial action.

Which reminds of a vampire film where one of the characters uses a Star of David to protect himself. Found it: Love at first bite[^]

The sad thing is that I remember this film. The thing that sticks most in my memory is the perma-tan that Dracula (a creature of the night) has throughout the film.
