I got a reminder that 25 April is Anzac Day. For those of you who may not know about it, check a wiki, and get informed. It could kind of be compared to Memorial Day in America, but that's not a true comparison. But it's the closest I could come up with. I'm still trying to research how cookies became involved the day... I know I have been CP-MIS for awhile, but I hope Bob will wear his Anzac attire.

Don't get me started. I will have a new blog soon, but marriage/lawyers are in the way currently. Don't ask. You don't want to know.

you would get into trouble here if you called them 'cookies' - but I'm multi-lingual, so I know what you mean ;P .. apparently, ANZAC biscuits were made to send to the troups in care packages as a nutritious [biscuit] that would keep for a long time .. I'll try and find a reference for you Hope all is well over there with hubby, the menagerie, work :-D [edit] http://www.courierpress.com/news/2012/apr/24/a-biscuit-born-of-battle/[^] [/edit] Garth

I debated on whether to call them cookies or biscuits (or "bickies"....is that the right spelling?) I was feeling the American nationalism so I went with cookies. :-D BTW, why the heck do Aussies change so many things to -ies? My husband used to make fun of me for calling things like bickies, sunnies, etc....

            Whatever.
