Tommorrow (26th December) is Boxing Day here... another national holiday. :) Not too sure about its origin... I think it is the day when people are supposed to put or "box" away presents. Does anyone else celebrate Boxing Day or get this day as a holiday?:)

Here in NZ it is also a holiday. The meaning of the word Boxing, is confusing at best. Possibly it comes from the Greek "puxos" which was used for the Boxwood tree, and being the mid winter in Britain this tree was saved to be put in the fires on a special day. Considering Saint Nick is meant to have come from Myra and the expression "Beware of Greeks bearing Gifts" exists, a plausible link could be found. But IMHO it's all Greek to me. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

I thought "boxing" comes from marshalling .NET value types into .NET reference types. We don't celebrate Boxing Day here in Ireland but the 26th [i.e. today] is St. Stephens day and it's a holy day and a national bank holiday. :-D But I'm working anyway. Regards, Brian Dela :-)
