There has been sporadic protests all week involving under 100 people at each. So far, it hasn't gotten out of hand, yet. A small group having a "Fuck the Police" march and sit in on a major street ended up trashing garbage cans and dumpsters, to which citizens responded, not the police, apparently there were some fights, an 80 y/o resident took a sucker punch to the head. There has already been reports of bags of shit thrown at conservative radio stations, the Board of Trade, and the city's municipal headquarters. If they decide to target The Mercantile Exchange, well, I'm fucked as I'm next door to it-they have set up barriers (high fences / road construction) so the only access point to the CME is shared with my building. Time for a tetanus shot and keeping a poncho in my bag (which has become a nearly weaponless bugout bag). Apparently, the bad apples are enjoying tying up police resources with bomb scares, nearly constant, on bridges, that I have to cross. Oh and a rash of brick throwing off of overpasses onto cars that started just this week. Oh well, the strangest part of this is getting used to DHS everywhere, and now I know what their vehicle's markings look like. Oh and a fucking drone, now I know what they look like flying around. I really wish I could properly communicate how weird this all is- a helicopter just buzzed my building, while a fleet of 4 just whizzed by 2 blocks away. Sunday and Monday are the big days. Sunday I will be safely tucked away from the city, surrounded by food, ammo, and loved ones. Monday, if it looks bad I'll telecommute. I would like point out that there have been arrests, and almost all of them are out of towners/ out of staters. The biggest irony, or perhaps a warning of what is to come, is that the people most in fear of what is going to happen are the people that I know that were involved in the Occupy movement last year, but have chosen to stay out this year. I feel like they know where the movement might be headed. Ok, these choppers are buzzing every few minutes now. I guess 50 15 leaders + 50 heads of states + their traveling party = a lot of shuttling from the airport. For those keeping track, here are reports from both sides. You know, part of this makes me wonder why not just have the meeting out in a Kansas wheat field. But, it's likely a good thing that Occupy stays out of my neighborhood. I simply could not tolerate the police standing around like this. Tase their a$$es and leave them twitching on the curb.

Rahm, the mayor, is going to run for President in '16. This allows him to meet every US-friendly leader from his current lowly position of mayor.

Actualy... We are shooting a shortfilm this weekend for an international contest. Might use some of this as backdrop.

To allow full political discourse, and to allow regular programming to resume on The Lounge, I've moved this to the more appropriate Soapbox.

Actualy... We are shooting a shortfilm this weekend for an international contest. Might use some of this as backdrop.

No, I haven't purchased anything yet and I'm keeping my hands out of the editing for this run. If worse comes to worse we will use free trials for now. What was the one you advocated? One more thing to worry about is scoring, I have instruments and can play, but would like to score in real time.

Vegas. Which started out life as an audio recorder/editor, oddly enough. :p As far as I know it still does multitrack recording, but haven't used it for such, so have nothing to say about ease/quality. No matter what recorder/editor you use, you'd nee da multi-input card of some sort. (I have the M-Audio Delta 1010LT and like it well enough, though I've never used more than one input at a time. 8 unbal inputs (RCA) + 2 bal mic/line inputs (XLR))
