Not sure, though did she actually die for her cause? That is what a martyr is.

There is no obvious reason for the univotes, I have offered a corrective vote.

she was gangraped by eight men in the pursuit of her cause. thats reason enough to label her a martyr.

Let's keep with the standard defintion for martyr. Rape is very tragic, but it doesn't make anyone a martyr.
Sorry, wrong word. Modern day hero? To be gangraped by 8 men at 15, and to persist regardless, takes a hell of a lot of "attitude" man, you gotta admire that. Fair enough ?

I haven't yet, but I reserve the right to do so in the future. From the title, I suspect it belongs in the back room.

No, it does not.

I wonder if there were a mechanism in place to force univoters to post why they voted a univote, like with articles, that would cut down the univotes altogether.

There have been about 500 posts in Site Bugs and Suggestions by people who have wondered the same thing. Short version: it's not a problem that needs solving, and any proposed solution so far is either more work than it's worth or would cause more problems than it solves.

I would heartily disagree with that and Chris has promised a solution though I suspect that hell will have long frozen over before he bothers to implement it. And yes, that was me who down-voted you for several reasons: 1) it's your opinion that it doesn't need solving 2) you have no idea if it would cause more problems and 3) don't be so arrogant.

What in particular? Or do your downvote reasons cover that?

Interesting. Not sure I've seen him agree to do that. What I have seen him say is that univotes are uncommon, they would cause sock puppet accounts, and they may inhibit people from giving honest downvotes for fear of retaliation.

And you downvote opinions you do not agree with?

Life forms are unique in that they can reasonably predict the future. They may not always be correct, but they can be pretty good at it. I can guess at (or estimate) what kinds of problems it would cause.

I don't think that is the word your are looking for. Either that, or you expect me to put "I think" in front of my every opinion, which I do not. Also, the opinions I expressed were not only my own... I was also giving a quick rundown of the responses seen in SB&S.

By the way, I am one of the people who have posted about voting mechanisms. Though that particular post was about articles (and Chris did end up implementing the deviation feature with articles). I do have a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about, and [I think] most suggestions for improvements new members might make have been posted before or would be a waste of Chris & Team's time.
