Panel will compare PaaS offerings to showcase benefits and show how to address common middleware, integration, and security challenges in the cloud
Palo Alto, CA – April 23, 2012 – WSO2 today announced that Chris Haddad, WSO2 vice president of technology evangelism, will speak as a “Cloud PaaS Deathmatch” panelist at Cloud Slam 2012 (http://cloudslam.org). The fourth annual Cloud Slam conference will run May 30 – June 1, 2012, holding its first two days at the South San Francisco Conference Center in San Francisco, CA, and conducting its final day as a virtual event at Livestream.com.
The Cloud PaaS Deathmatch (http://cloudslam.org/paasdeathmatch) is a four-part series of panel discussions that will bring platform-as-a-service (PaaS) vendors and their clients together to defend their platforms against those of others. The panel will explore business and developer perspectives on cloud platforms, including common challenges, solutions, and future directions. The discussions also will examine the benefits of open source versus proprietary platforms, and how to select the right PaaS to optimize agility and scale. WSO2’s position on these topics can be found in the white paper, “Selecting a Cloud Platform: Platform as a Service Scorecard” (http://wso2.com/casestudies/selecting-a-cloud-platform), and in Chris’ blog post, “PaaS TCO and PaaS ROI: Multi-tenant Shared Container PaaS” (http://blog.cobia.net/cobiacomm/2012/05/13/paas-tco-and-paas-roi-multi-tenant-shared-container-paas).
As part of the panel discussions, Chris will provide an overview of WSO2 Stratos (http://wso2.com/cloud/stratos), the award-winning open source cloud middleware platform that enables full multi-tenancy and seamless migration across on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid deployments. The industry’s most comprehensive platform for deploying a Java platform-as-a-service (PaaS), WSO2 Stratos features thirteen integrated products for cloud-native application development, integration, management, monitoring, security and governance.
