If this happens, we're all out of a job...

Was in a meeting the other day, and my boss had come up with a presentation on the new functionality we're putting into software. Various scenarios had been written out, with a precision that made it almost psuedo-code. One team member pointed out that if anyone ever finds a way to turn powerpoint presentations into code, we're all out of a job. Anyone else ever get that feeling? Seems like a LOT of the work at the higher echelons of IT is very much powerpoint orientated!

There's the difference! In my experience, that sentence would have read with a precision that made it like a piece of fruit cake, dropped at a party, trodden on, and smeared over a wide area of carpet and linoleum, subsequently being licked by the family dog until, while there is a faint aroma of fruit cake remaining, any visible similarity is no longer evident, and that same aroma is somewhat overwhelmed by the tang of 'dog-rolled-in-poo'.

Nonsense. Powerpoint is fourth place behind Excel, Word and the free Clipart collection software complete with 5000 pictures.

Fortunately the adult supervision where I work are all former hardware engineers, so we won't have any of that software nonsense any time in the near future.
