That movie made me laugh a lot. Just plain fun! Plus, combining nazis and zombies is always a win.

28 days after. Of course I enjoyed a lot Shaun of the dead. (hot fuzz is also fun not zombie style but it seems a second half of Shaun's). Zombieland is also fun.

Is that some sort of take off of "28 Days Later"?

This is SO tough for me. I have always been such a sick fan of these films, and also of George Romero - the creator of the modern zombie film. The "classic" that made me not sleep for days - Dawn Of The Dead (1978). The "fun" one - Shaun Of The Dead (2004). The creepiest one(s), virus-based - [Rec] (2007) and [Rec2] (2009) If you have not seen [Rec] and [Rec2] - I strongly urge you to do so. They are terrific!

Except unfortunately as I recall it the second movie was not in fact "virus-based"? Instead it was some muddle view of devils or spirits - right?

Actually we're both right, and for both (well, all three now) films. It is a viral demonic possession. The only way to become "possessed" is to have the virus transmitted to you through blood and saliva. In [Rec2] Dr. Owen explains what it is and its pathology about 5 minutes into it when they enter the penthouse. [Rec3] was weak. The girl was hot though.
