If there is reincarnation, in my next life, I want to come back as a traffic policeman. Nothing would give me more pleasure than issuing tickets to all these morons

Whilst I understand how you feel (drivers here have to be the world's worst), I don't think coming back as a traffic cop would help: they have a tough job, I get that, but try smiling once in a while. Avoid a Traffic Ticket[^]

At least do not plan to come back as a policeman in the US. There are enough bad apples in the police force that they have a really bad name, and you are quite likely to be killed. There have been numerous cases of policement killing an unarmed suspect and getting away with it with their job intact (thanks in part to the police unions). Then they are back on the beat armed and still as murderous. Then there are the numerous police beatings. Also many policemen in the US do not seem to think it is important to show respect, and so....

In crime-ridden neighborhoods, obviously cops are not going to be the same as an upscale developing suburb. They're under different pressures. Frankly, cops in crime hot spots are like that out of self-preservation. Out of context, sure, you would think that a cop is being unreasonable. Talking to an ex-cop at work here, he told me about how in certain areas of LA, he wouldn't go without 3 other cops with him because they would consider killing a cop an honor. Realistically, someone has to enforce the laws and in areas where the civilians are in direct opposition to that - the lines will obviously get blurred. Ultimately, it is a sticky subject. I don't outright believe that cops are inherently bad, but it doesn't mean there aren't bad ones in the bunch.

I don't believe in reincarnation. I didn't believe in it in six of my seven previous lives, either.

You don't need reincarnation for that. Just apply to your local force; if you're reasonably intelligent and motivated it shouldn't be hard to get a job, and traffic policing isn't particularly popular as far as I know.
