Hmm... more reads like Sendo is in trouble with MS, and, given the the usual anti-MS slant of TheRegister, it more reads like Sendo tried to team up with the "big boy" to get a better competetive position against the "big boys" in phone biz. To expect that all the big boy does is to nurture and care for for you, is a bit much.

Small companies who get offered too good to be true opportunities must be careful, the consequences are Big Boy terroritory.

Well there is a lot of MS bashing going on at the moment. I suppose they thought they should join in. In fact it seems to have become something og a sport. You have the Sun V's MS on the Java thing. You have Mr Lindows (aka Mr MP3.com) sponsoring the Linux on XBOX You have InterTrust sueing over aleged patent infingment covering DRM technology. and now you have people on purpose trying to crack the XBOX game encryption http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/2207229.stm[^] Surely the last one has to be illegal in the US with the DMCA. Just tempting fate that one. But I'm sure some judge will rule that because the XBOX does not run. Oh and the antitrust case will not die. All kinds of groups are appealing. They seem to be having a bad run.

Garsh, thats so unbelievable. You wouldn't think a company twice convicted of being a predatory monopoly... oh wait ... never mind.

Long before this story broke big, there were some minor stories that cast some doubt on parts of Sendo's version of events. While there's no doubt Microsoft is acting like Intel, er, an 800 pound gorilla, there were rumors that Sendo was planning on dropping Microsoft and had already been contacting and working with some Microsoft competitors. When this story broke, my attitude was, and still is, "Pox on both [their] houses."
