The new font sucks
-
Not to be rude but the new look has very cheap effect. The flat look is quite OK, I'm a big fan of minimal design but the font used to build up most of the site seems to be low quality and its very hard to read. You have to sharpen the look starting with the font. I get a headache from reading the site for 10 minutes.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox latest 15.0. The OS is Win7 at work and WinXP SP2 on this laptop, on both most of the text looks terrible. Only some of the text is looking good, for example text on the "Post Message" button and text in the editboxes.

IMHO, the font and new look are OK (it'll take getting used to, as with anything new, so no complaints there). However, please, pretty please:
- Reduce the vertical padding around forum post subjects and body content - at least until I get a 2048x2048 screen :)
- Increase the contrast of the text used to display a post's author
- Increase the contrast of the boilerplate text at the bottom of a post (Reply | Email | etc. and the post rating controls)
This bleary-eyed developer thanks you! /ravi

I just thought font should be smaller (as programmer, we are accustomed to viewing max amount of information in one screen, as such font 8 be largest acceptable font!)

You are right. Still my biggest problem is not the size this time. Unfortunately the characters look like poorly scaled bitmaps on my machine, they are blurred and not crisp. Someone below in one of the messages wrote that its like the site was fading out.

I have a 2560x1440 and let me tell you...you'll wish you were using a smaller screen X| I have to zoom in to make this font readable, its size combined with the reduction in contrast (at least, it seems that way to me) is difficult to adjust to.

Thanks, on the Win7 machine the font problem seems to be resolved! :-) Haven't yet tried the WinXP.
