I was just trying to pay for something online, and one of the mandatory fields was my phone number. I typed it in the usual format, with a space after the area code, and was presented with this message: Contact number must contain no spaces, be numeric and no shorter than 9 digits. What's more, IT CLEARED ALL THE OTHER FIELDS! Why oh why oh why? Surely a moments usability testing on the website would have spotted that this is very bad bit of coding? Stripping the spaces out of a phone number can't be that hard, and why does it matter anyway?
