Clearly Code Project needs moderating administrators who can override the spitefulness of some of the Lounge members by having rights to undo a group action. Or if that is not appropriate, for the account to be flagged in such a way that an authorised and trusted Code Project employee has to become involved in the final decision making process as to if the account is to be confirmed as deleted, or suspended or to be operated as normal. Yet, I'll look forward to your participation in the forum next door that I am Admin for where you are not restricted in the subject matter you so wish to discuss.
I just think there a a few very nasty people who can't take any kind of humour at all. If you are going to reinstate an account, please reinstate my old fat_boy account, email is zzebowa@hotmail.com :) I have kind of approached Chris with this problem, of accounts being deleted. he wants this site to be a coders site. Yes, I do post a lot of stuff, on food, guitar, politics, and GW, but also I am one of the very few who as a windows kernel dev actually post technical stuff and help people on the hardware forum. What I said to Chris was that since my contribution in this area is rare and thus valuable the continuous deletion of my accounts is actually damaging to CP. It isnt as if I care that much, CP is (was) an amusing place to hang out and discuss all kinds of stuff with intelligent people the world over. If it is to remain what it is, a clique,, then I have little interest in it. (And SB1 1.0 is too much a US right wing forum to have any real interest for me)

Alas, I don't have that authority. I can only administer existing Soapbox 1.0 members. And can only edit/delete members postings in that forum and set a limited number of rules for that forum. I can't even enrol a CP member to SB1.0 without them first applying for membership.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you felt like you were banging your head against a brick wall.

Well, if that is the case, he has failed as I know a number of members who either no longer work within the discipline of programming or have never worked within that discipline. IMO, CP has lost quite a few members over the last few months because CP no longer does what it originally set out to do - namely - to be a community. The politics (not party politics) of the Lounge have changed alienated many. BUT ... I would remove your email address from your posting - spam etc .... [added] Go re-sign up at SB.1.0 with your present account, I'll authorise your membership, just try not to upset the Lounge members by losing this current account, otherwise we can be doing this thing ad infinitum.

Better to change the lounge mentality then.

They are all adults there but sometimes it does make you wonder. I have no idea if the Lounge satisfies what Chris Maunder is trying to achieve with CodeProject. But I understand that Maunder has been developing something new for CP - no idea what though. Anyway, go next door and sign-up, I'll authorise your application ...
